Lost Cookbook Forum

LOST A COOKBOOK? Post it here.

Almost every one of the 15,000 cookbooks we have in our store has passed through my hands, and new ones come in every day. I learn as much from the customers as I do reading cookbooks. Most of the time, our extensive experience allows us to identify or find the recipe booklet or cookbook in question, and some of our success stories are posted here. Sometimes we are stumped and we hope that readers might recognize a mystery cookbook.

Use the comment button below to add your cookbook to the list. If we can help, we'll send you an email. If not, maybe one of our readers will recognize your hard-to-find recipe booklet or cookbook.

Found Waldorf Astoria

Waldorf_for_blog"THE WALDORF ASTORIA COOKBOOK"
1969

When Tom Dawson contacted us to help replace his Waldorf Astoria Cookbook, he was dreaming of a recipe for "Deviled Beef Bones".  Little did we know that the New York Times would find his story interesting enough to feature in a recent article on old cookbooks.

Tom says the Waldorf no longer has this recipe on the menu, but since all the hullabaloo, they are reconsidering. There is a new Waldorf cookbook available, featuring recipes by the chefs du jour, but the old cookbook is getting harder and harder to find.
